Frequently Asked Questions
- I'm not a trader or finance pro, is this for me?
- Yes. QuarterlyIQ is built for everyday investors who own stocks and funds but don't watch the market all day. We explain everything in plain English, and any time we use a finance term we tell you what it means.
- What is a thesis alert?
- Your thesis is the reason you own a stock. When that reason durably weakens (the business itself gets worse, not just the price wobbling), we alert you right away. Alerts are rare by design: when we speak, it's because something real happened.
- How is this different from price alerts or portfolio risk tools?
- Price alerts tell you the stock moved, not whether it matters. Risk tools tell you if your portfolio is shaped dangerously (too concentrated, too volatile). QuarterlyIQ watches the substance: whether the business behind each holding still supports the reason you bought it. Many people use us alongside a risk tool.
- Which stocks are covered?
- We cover 4,000+ US stocks across all 11 sectors today, plus 45+ funds and ETFs. If you add a name we don't cover yet, we automatically start ingesting it, so your portfolio is covered either way.
- How fresh is the data?
- Filings, earnings calls, prices, and government economic reports are read the moment they land. The brief refreshes through the week, and alerts fire in real time when a thesis breaks.
- Why not just ask ChatGPT about my stocks?
- A chatbot answers once and forgets your holdings. Pasting your portfolio in every week is arming your own alarm by hand. QuarterlyIQ runs continuously on data curated for this one job, remembers what management promised last quarter, and tells you first.
- Will you tell me when to buy or sell?
- No, and you should be suspicious of anyone who says they can. We tested our own signals against future price direction and they're a coin flip, like everyone else's. What we can do is make sure you're never the last to know when the reason you own something changes, so you have time to decide.
- Do I need a credit card to start?
- No. The Free plan tracks 5 stocks with no credit card required, and you can see a live brief on your own tickers before creating an account at all.
- When should I upgrade?
- Free works if you're happy checking in on 5 names yourself. Plus is for not having to: import your whole book instead of typing it in, get alerted in real time when a thesis breaks, and have the brief come to you. The difference isn't better insight. It's who does the watching.
- Can I cancel anytime?
- Yes. You can cancel from your account whenever you want, and you keep access through the end of the billing cycle.
- Should I treat this as investment advice?
- No. QuarterlyIQ explains what changed, what matters, and what to watch. We don't recommend buying or selling. That's your decision.
